For this event, the main Chianti Classico wine festival of the year, the large piazza of Greve in Chianti is lined with stands belonging to various Chianti Classico wine producers, including many of the most important ones. By buying a glass and the ticket that comes with it, you are entitled to sample up to eight wines free. Apparently there is a charge once your past eight wines There is additional entertainment from time to time throughout the day but wines are the central focus. It is possible to reach Greve from Florence by comfortable bus but note that the last buses head back to Florence quite early (6.30 to 7.30 - check the bus timetable link from http://www.greve-in-chianti.com )
