On Sunday, October 18t, Fearrington Wine Director Maximilian Kast is pleased to welcome Serge Hochar of Chateau Musar. One of the finest wineries in the world, Chateau Musar is located in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon. Started in 1930 by Gaston Hochar in the cellars of a 17th century castle, Chateau Musar has won accolades from every section of the international wine trade. Now run by Gaston's sons Serge and Ronald Hochar, the winery has added to those accolades under their leadership. Their most famous wine is the Chateau Musar Rouge, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, and Cinsault, which is released only after 7 years of aging. It is a profound wine with none other in the world quite like it. The winery also produces exotic white wines from indigenous Lebanese grape varietals which also have great aging potential. Serge Hochar will be joining us for a rare and unique dinner, sampling Chateau Musar's wines from as far back as the 1960s, highlighted by a gourmet multi-course menu created by Fearrington Executive Chef Colin Bedford. $175 per guest, excludes tax and gratuity. Reservations required. Call (919) 542-2121
