Wines taste different from each other because they are made from different grapes. Just as a Granny Smith apple tastes different than a McIntosh apple, wines made from Merlot, Chardonnay, etc. each have unique flavors that are derived primarily from those grapes. We focus on the Merlot grape this evening to learn more about its aroma and flavor profile as we taste samples from around the world. By the way, all the wines will be in “brown bags” in order to eliminate any preconceptions about any producer or country!
