August Food and Wine Tasting

Join John and Susie Ganley, owners of Cosimo's Brick Oven for a very special food and wine tasting, featuring the flavors of Northern Italy. From under the Tuscan sun to the canals of Venice, Il Gusto Di' Italia Del Nord (The Taste of Northern Italy) promises an evening filled with a delicious sampling of the flavors and wines from Italy's northern regions at the restaurant located inside Westfield Southgate.

Influenced by the surrounding countries of France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia, the northern Italian regions offer a medley of luscious, rich, earthy and intoxicating dishes. Chef Shane Dabney has planned a menu featuring regional cuisines from Valle D'Aosta, Lombardia, Piemonte, Emilia Romagna, Trentino Alto Adige, Toscana, and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The menu brimming with delightful authentic Italian dishes includes: wild boar sausage with roasted red peppers, onions and garlic in a spicy red sauce, braised rabbit with forest mushrooms in Borolo wine sauce, crispy polenta with fontina fondue, risotto with saffron, sweet peas and pancetta, fresh mozzarella, tomato and prosciutto salad with balsamic reduction and extra virgin olive oil, grilled romaine wedges with gorgonzola cheese, tomatoes, green olives and garlic herb vinaigrette, and roasted fennel and orange salad.

To make this special evening even more delicious, Cosimo's staff has chosen a variety of Northern Italian wines paired to perfection with the exciting menu including: Lunetta-Prosecco, Pieropan-Soave Superiore, Pia Cesare-Chardonnay, CaMontini-Pinot Grigio, LaCalplana-Barbera, Zenato-Valpolicella Ripasso, Bruno Giacosa-Dolcetto D'Alba and Allegrini-Valpolicella Classico.
