TASTING MENU FOR SATURDAY Appetizers served from our Meat and Cheese Departments with the tasting
Hook & Ladder Elegant, complex and intensely flavored. Our estate Cabernet developed into a moderately structured wine with velvet tannins and a core of acidity that creates a wine destined to improve a meal. Aromas of cassis, black currant, leather and pipe tobacco leads into a mix of dark fruit flavors with prominent sweet herb, mint and mocha.
Avalon Bright and clear, our 2004 wine has a deep ruby color. Plum and raspberry nuances from the Merlot complement the dark cherry and black raspberry characteristics of the Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep fruit flavors are balanced and enhanced by aging in French and American barrels. Oak aging provides notes of allspice and vanilla while giving breadth and depth on the palate. The wine should continue to develop over the next 5-8 years.
Twenty Bench The 2004 Twenty Bench is one of our more pronounced vintages to date. Aromas of black currants, plums and chocolate accompany the wines dense, inky color, while the palate shows great structure, richness and depth that comes with the first ever addition of Cabernet Franc to the blend. This wine drinks well now and will age gracefully over the next 7 -8 years.
Frank Family The 2003 Frank Family Vineyard’s Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon leads with generous aromas of dark chocolate, black cherry and spice which are layered with dusty cedar and loam. The palate is vibrant and concentrated; bursting with ripe black cherries, plum, currant and blackberry, which are balanced with well structured tannins, providing a lasting grip while maintaining a refined elegance.
Reynolds Family Dark plum, bright cherry and blackberry dance around nuances of chocolate, black pepper, earthy leather and a hint of clove. It has a beautifully silky, yet powerful finish of great length. The fruit characteristics of this wine allow it to be enjoyed now or cellared for years to come. |
