Join us for a fun and adventurous wine tasting featuring wines from Charlotte-based distributor Kellogg Selections.  Get ready to be wowed by some truly world-class wines presented by two veteran sommeliers.

I’m really glad there are companies like Kellogg Selections.  They make my job easier.  First and foremost, they deal only in wine, just like Table Wine.  Further, their portfolio is focused on smaller wineries and producers…..again, just like Table Wine.  And more important than anything is the people factor.  Prior to starting his company, Jeff Kellogg was the sommelier/wine director at New York’s Maialino and San Francisco’s Quince and Cotogna.  You may not know those restaurants, but trust me, we’re talking top level wine programs, and Jeff oversaw their construction.  Add to the equation Robert Novick, the Western North Carolina territory rep.  Robert worked as a sommelier at a couple of Lidia Bastianich’s restaurants in New York City before working for over a decade with one of the city’s leading wholesalers/importers.  These guys know their stuff, their portfolio is extremely exciting, and they can’t wait to share it with you!

Stop by for a California-centric tasting, but with a few added surprises.  Of all of the wines in the store currently, these are some of the most exciting.  Stop by and you’ll taste what I’m talking about.  No RSVP is required for this tasting — just stop by any time between 2-5pm, pay your $5, and taste, learn, and save.

All of the featured tasting wines are being offered at 20% off by the bottle on tasting day only!  To take advantage of the savings, all sales must be tendered by the end of business on March 31st.

Can’t make it, but want to take advantage of the savings?  Just call us at 828.505.8588 to place your order, and we can run your credit card over the phone.

1. 2016 Bellus Falanghina Caldera (Campania, Italy) – Bellus is the personal wine project of Jordan Salcito, beverage director at Momofuku.  All of the wines are organic and all of them are delicious.  Grown in the hills of Campania, this is about as bright, refreshing, and delicious as Italian white wine gets.
Special Tasting Day Price: $17.59/bottle

2. 2016 Massican Annia White Wine (Napa Valley, California) – Talk about an exciting winery and an exciting wine!  Made by Dan Petroski, the San Francisco Chronicle’sWinemaker of the Year in 2017, this is one of the best white wines I tasted last year.  A blend of Ribolla Gialla and Tocai Friulano, with just a splash of Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay, it is a wine that blows minds and steals hearts.
Special Tasting Price: $29.59/bottle

3. 2017 Lieu-Dit Rose of Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara County, California) – I just tasted this with Robert the other day, and I was blown away.  100% Pinot Noir from the famed Sanford & Benedict Vineyard, it is dry, lean, and mineral driven with gorgeous notes of strawberry and watermelon.  You’re going to love it!
Special Tasting Price: $19.99/bottle

4. 2016 Reeve Pinot Noir (Anderson Valley, California) – This was one of the top wines I tasted on my recent trip to California.  Maybe I’m biased as the wine is made by Noah Dorrance, my fraternity brother from college.  I don’t think so though.  This is one of the prettiest Pinot Noirs that we stock.  Not much is made.  We’re pouring it.
Special Tasting Price: $38.39/bottle

5. 2015 Bodega Chacra “Amor Seco” Red (Patagonia, Argentina) – Merlot?  From Argentina?  Yes, and it’s one of the best Merlots I’ve tasted in year.  Bodega Chacra is owned by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, whose family owns Tenuta San Guido, producers of Italy’s famed Sassicaia.  Their Merlot comes from a 40+ year-old, biodynamically farmed vineyard, and it is out of this world good!  Juicy, lively, balanced, and spicy, it reminds me of an old-school Napa Merlot, but costs a fraction of the price.
Special Tasting Price: $19.19/bottle

6. 2015 CantinArte Montepulciano d’Abruzzo “Ode” (Abruzzo, Italy) – CantinArte is the sort of winery you want all of your wines to come from.  Certified organic and producing world-class olive oil as well as wine, their Montepulciano was recently a top pick in the New York Times.  I can see why!  Lively, fresh, pure, and full of soulful flavor, this is true Montepulciano at its finest.
Special Tasting Price: $20.79/bottle

7. 2012 Convexity Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley, California) – For those looking for a classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, look no more.  When I say classic, I’m talking Montelena, Stags Leap, and others of that ilk.  This one is made by Steve Matthiasson, the San Francisco Chronicle’s Winemaker of the Year in 2014.  It’s balanced, it’s flavorful, it’s complex.  It’s real good!
Special Tasting Price: $42.39/bottle
