Local Event
Cost: Entry is free, wine from Potek Winery available for purchase by the glass and bottle.
Over the coming weeks, Potek Winery will host a series of intimate talks, in a salon-like setting, that feature winemakers whose wine brands are heavily influenced by the immigration of their ancestors to the New Country. David Potter's great-grandfather, Berl Potek, for whom the winery is named, later changed his named to Benjamin Potter---an overture towards assimilation---when he entered the United States from Romania via Ellis Island in 1917.
The series will conclude with Don Galleano, of Mira Loma’s historic Galleano Winery. The winery was first established by the Galleano family in 1933 and today is recognized as a Riverside County Historical Landmark and a State of California Point of Historic Interest. Galleano will be on hand to discuss his heritage, the family’s colorful multi-generational history and the fruit he sources from Rancho Cucamonga. In addition to their portfolio of wines, Galleano Winery also produces a sweet Vermouth and Cream Sherry.
