A Sit-Down Tasting
Regular Ticket Price: $119.00
IWM Host: Michael Adler
In 1968, Tenuta San Guido incited the Super-Tuscan revolution with the inaugural vintage of its world-changing Sassicaia, a wine with its roots firmly in France's Bordeaux. Fast forward fifty years, and the Super-Tuscan is here to stay--it's a style of wine that changed Italy forever. Join IWM as we explore the wines that made the Super-Tuscan genre a winemaking force, as we look to the genre's roots in Bordeaux, and as we see how, fifty years later, one style of wine influences another. IWM's knowledgeable sommelier will pour iconic Italian producers like Antinori, Castello dei Rampolla, Terriccio, and Tenuta San Guido alongside wines from Château Pontet-Canet, Château Talbot, and Château Lynch-Bages, allowing guests to gain a deeper understanding of the wines they love, the grapes that comprise them, and the winemakers behind them. Accompanied by regional meats and cheeses, this special tasting of Bordeaux and beyond shows that the world revolves around great wine--no matter who inspired whom!
