The Prohibition Years: How California Vineyards Survived and Sometimes Thrived when Wine was Outlawed
Travel back in time with novelist, Lawrence Coates, as he discusses the history of California wines and vineyards from the years 1919 - 1933, when the 18th amendment outlawed the sale and consumption of alcohol in the United States. Based on research conducted for his novel, "The Garden of the World," Coates will reveal the many inventive - and barely legal - methods California vintners employed to get through the dry years.
