While Napa Valley remains America’s most famous and important region for fine Cabernet Sauvignon, Bordeaux’s top red grape is shining brightly up and down the West Coast. Join us as we explore a range of Cabernet Sauvignon styles from southerly sites like Santa Barbara and Paso Robles to northerly Columbia Valley and Walla Walla in Washington.
You’ll sample a total of 7 wines ranging from great values for everyday enjoyment to powerful and refined bottlings you’ll want to cellar and savor for years. The full tasting list has yet to be nailed down, but will include:
Union Sacre Cabernet Sauvignon Le Confident 2016 (Happy Valley)
DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2016 (follow-up to WS 93 2015)
Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Santa Cruz Mtn 2014 (WS 92)
Arrowood Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley 2013 (Vinous 91)
Corliss Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 2012 (WA 97)
We’ll flesh out the remaining wines over the next few weeks – but we can guarantee now that they’ll be impressive examples of West Coast Cab that just doesn’t happen to come from Napa! If you love great American Cabernet and want to see what it can do outside Napa’s (expensive!) confines, this is the class for you!
As always, we’ll serve light snacks with the wines and have plenty of great information and conversation to share. Reserve your seats now online or by calling us at the store at 703.356.6500. Join us!
