The excitement around wintery food and adventure is snowballing. One reason? Paws Up’s third-annual WinterFest culinary weekend. Featuring James Beard Award nominee Bruce Kalman and Bravo Top Chef winner Brooke Williamson, it’s three and a half days of intimate cooking demonstrations, gourmet winter-themed feasts, tastings with winemaker Ehren Jordan, small-batch distilled beverages, an exhibition curling match and live performances by Missoula songstress Andrea Harsell and guitarist and singer-songwriter John Floridis.
It’s all served against a backdrop of incredible snow-covered mountains. Between meals, you’ll get to explore the glittering landscape on snowmobile, dogsled or the back of a horse. If you decide to try Paws Up’s newest winter activity, skijoring, you’ll be pulled on skis by a horse. Call it Norwegian-style “water”skiing.
There are also horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice skating, cross-country skiing, clay shooting, snowshoeing, trunk shows for retail therapy, a host of spa services and, of course, sitting in your own private outdoor hot tub under a starlit sky.
Even without the scenery, there’s a lot to take in.
