Tour the wineries and vineyards from the Yakima city area to Wapato, Buena, and Zillah in the western part of the Yakima Valley Wine Region. We often visit a tasting room in the Yakima city area, and then move southwest of the city, where the Yakima River cuts through the ridge at Union Gap and out into the broad, rolling terrain of the Yakima Valley. All but 100 acres of Washington’s vineyards are in eastern Washington and one-third of that is in the Yakima Valley. So most of the wineries here are located in or next to the vineyards that supply their grapes. This tour concentrates on tastings at the wineries and vineyards of the Rattlesnake Hills area.
