| Now in our 4th year, the ride is held in honor of Ginny Burns who lost a courageous fight with cancer in November 2004. 2007 was our most successful event yet with 51 riders on 36 bikes. The ride benefits both Moutain Valley Hospice and the Hospice & Palliative CareCenter in Winston-Salem, NC.
The ride is open to motorcycles of all kinds, along with cars. We start at the Yadkin Valley Grape Festival in Yadkinville (to be held this year on Saturday, October 18th) and travel to designated vineyards on country roads. At each vineyard, we tour the facility, learn the history of the vineyard, and ask questions of the vineyard personnel. Although we tour the facility, we do not do any tasting at the vineyards. During the ride, we will have lunch at one of the vineyards, which is provided to the riders by the sponsors of the ride. We will leave the festival at 10:00 am and return by 1:30 - 2:00 pm. Each rider, in addition to getting lunch, will also receive a ride t-shirt, a chance at door prizes, and if over 21 years of age, a ticket to the wine tasting once we return to the festival. This year we are going to visit Hanover Park, RayLen, West Bend, Flint Hill, and Shelton vineyards. This route will be approximately 100 miles and will travel some very beautiful, scenic, and motorcycle-friendly country roads.
