| The 21st annual Auction of Washington Wines event, titled “Coming of Age,” will be held Aug. 14-16 in and around Woodinville, a growing suburban wine region located near Seattle.
The auction is co-chaired by Greg Lill, President, of DeLille Cellars and Tod Leiweke, CEO, the Seattle Seahawks.
The three-day celebration of Washington wine kicks off with the Picnic with the Winemakers & Barrel Auction on Thursday, Aug. 14, on the grounds of Chateau Ste. Michelle.
It is followed by a series of winemaker dinners on Friday, Aug. 15. The 2nd annual Covey Run 10K and TalkingRain, 5K run / walk, will wind through the streets of Woodinville’s wine country Saturday morning, Aug. 16.
The Gala Auction celebrating the “Coming of Age” of Washington state wine will take place Saturday evening, Aug. 16, at Chateau Ste. Michelle.
Auction organizers also announced a number of key sponsors, including Chateau Ste. Michelle, John L. Scott Foundation, Classical 98.1 KING FM, Lexus, Seattle Magazine, Seattle Sounders FC, Viking, Vine Vertical, Wells Fargo Private Bank and Wine Spectator.
Proceeds from the Auction of Washington Wines benefit uncompensated care for patients and families at Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center and the Washington Wine Education Foundation.
The Auction of Washington Wines, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, is the philanthropic organization of the Washington wine industry and one of the nation’s top charity wine auctions. More than $19 million has been raised since the auction was founded in 1988. |
