| If you enjoy eating Indian food and would like to know more about it and how to prepare it then this is the class for you!
Come and learn why Indian spices are good for you and how easy it is to use them. We will discuss turmeric, cumin, coriander, cardamon, chili powder, mustard seed, cloves, asafoteidia, masalas and curries. In the process, you will learn to prepare an Indian meal (many of these recipes are personal favorites of our instructor!)
Possible dishes include: Dal, Chana Masala - Indian Chickpea Stew, Green Chutney, Date-Raisin Chutney, Eggplant Curry, Brown Basmati Rice Pilaf, Filo Turnover Samosas, Curry Laced Lentil Soup, Indian Spiced Quinoa, Indian Veggie Burger, Mimi's Indian Tilapi and much more!
Note: This is mostly a demonstration class, although attendees will be able to enjoy the dishes prepared at the end of the class. Participants will also receive a packet of 10 Indian recipes to prepare at home.
About the instructor: Our chef for this class is a certified holistic health counselor, consultant, healthy cook, and educator. She offers an integrated approach to nutrition and wellness for individuals. As a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, she immersed herself in nutrition theories from across the globe, and she has also completed many courses in health supportive cooking at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health.
