from the Greco di Tufo of Campania to the Nero D'Avola of Sicily!

Join TasteDC for an introduction wine class on the great wines of southern Italy!
When it comes to unique wines and price to quality ratio, nothing beats the exotic wines
of Southern Italy! We will taste the up and coming wines of Sicily, Campania, Sardinia,
and Puglia with an amazing variety of wines such as Aglianico, Nero D'Avola, Falanghina,
Fiano, Falernum, and Perricone to name a few. This region, particularly Sicily, is rich
in history so expect to hear interesting anecdotes and stories as well. If you're new to
the wines of Italy or are planning a trip there, this class will give you great tips to help
understand them better! We will taste and cover in this class:

-The taste and unique "terroir" of this region,
-The DOC System of rating wines in Italy and how it effects quality
-Wine and food pairing, and discussion of this Region's great cuisine,
-The best producers and where to find their wines in our area,
You will taste from 6 to 8 wines in this class
Please note: no prior wine knowledge is required for this event.
Bread, crackers and cheese will be served with the wines as palate cleansers only.

Our wine speaker for this event Ron Brooks has worked in all aspects of wine for the last 20 years.
Since moving to the DC area nine years ago, Ron has been working for Winebow Inc.
