| In May, four dozen independent American craft brewers will gather in Washington, D.C., for the first-ever national showcase of the coupling of great beer and fine food.
" Savor: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience," is part of the Brewers Association's annual American Craft Beer Week celebration.
Brewers from across the nation will pour an impressive selection of pilsners, porters, pale ales and stouts and match those brews with a menu of their choice.
Beer fans hope the event will put fine suds on par with fine wine.
"This event is guaranteed to make a believer out of anyone who attends," .
The event is at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium. It includes a variety of small dishes and appetizers matched with various beer styles. Participants get to keep the tasting glass and a souvenir program.
Tickets go on sale online Monday, Feb. 4.
