| Willkommen to the 48th Annual La Crosse Oktoberfest.
Thanks for taking a moment to page through this brochure. You’ll
be amazed at how many wonderful things there are to do at
this year’s Oktoberfest. Of course there are the staples and fan
favorites like the pageant watching, keg tapping, parade attending,
medallion hunting, brat eating, band listening, and Ferris wheel
riding. And probably more polka dancing than should be legal for
a city of this size.
HOWEVER…if you page through this “newly-redesigned-fits-in-
your-back-pocket” event brochure, you’ll probably come across
some events you weren’t even aware of! Like a youth basketball tourney, photo contest, pancake breakfasts, a needlework show,
motorcycle ride, the beer tapping Olympics and the Laff Olympics!
You’ll even find a few new things like the beer tasting event
on Wednesday afternoon. You’ll have a chance to sample regional
craft beers and even some from all over the world!
Not only has it been a very busy year planning for Oktoberfest,
but also for the S&S Cycle 50th Anniversary. A big thanks to Brett
Smith and everyone at S&S Cycle for not only choosing the city
of La Crosse to host their awesome event, but for picking the
southside Oktoberfest grounds for the main attractions. Your
generosity afforded us the ability to donate thousands of dollars
to local charities and even some much needed upgrades to our
fest grounds. A big thanks to everyone who donated countless
hours of their time planning and executing the event, including:
all of the non-profit groups that worked the event, the board of
directors and “Fest Family.”
Have a great Oktoberfest and when you see the people in
leather shorts this year out and about “festing-with-the-best,” ask
them how you can be a part of our awesome “Fest Family.” We’d
love to have you. |
