| As stewards of the land, winemakers have always kept a close eye on the quality of the vineyard soil and the fruits thereof. That keen interest has moved many to transition their farms to organic, biodynamic, or sustainable certification. There has also been a surge of interest from the consumers searching for “green” alternatives.
The Wine Company is hosting “Taste for the Earth”, an organic wine tasting in honor of Earth Day 2007. This event is an opportunity for the “searching consumers” to find the wines they want and, in turn, benefit the land…all proceeds from the tasting will be donated to The Land Stewardship Project, http://www.landstewardshipproject.org/index-aboutus.html. Over sixty wines from around the globe will be open for sampling, all wines from organic, biodynamic, or sustainable farms. If you love the wine and purchase from a participating retailer, a portion of those dollars will also be donated to LSP.
“Taste for the Earth” is scheduled for Monday, April 16th, 5:30-7:30PM, at The Old Arizona Theater in Minneapolis. The cost is $23 per person and space is limited to 150 guests. Tickets are available only through http://www.LocalWineEvents.com.
