Winery U! is the first of its kind among Texas Hill Country Wineries, offering a series of decidedly non-pretentious classes designed to wring the snobbishness out of wine. (If you’re still a snob after graduating from Winery U! we won’t hold it against you!)
Sure, there are some serious parts to making wine, but what fun is that? We’re all about having a good time when it comes to learning what a winemaker does from start to finish, using all your senses to appreciate the fruit of the vine, getting your wine -- and whine -- questions answered, and learning how food and wine can play nice together (and we don’t mean dance the tango!).

The Grape Adventure or How Wine is Made
Winemaking can be a dizzyingly complicated business, with all of the modern science and technology involved, all of the advanced training now offered, and all of the artistic abilities needed to craft just the right wine. But in the end, the basis of winemaking is simple: Grape juice plus yeast makes wine. That hasn’t changed in thousands of years, even as vineyards have grown to cover more than 20 million acres of the earth’s surface, producing more than 60 million tons of fruit, 80 percent of which is made into wine. Learn how grapes are planted, harvested, and made into that luscious juice we call wine!
All classes are held on Saturday, 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m at Dry Comal Creek Vineyards
Head Winos (those willing to share their wine stuff!)
