Crab Cake with Bibb lettuce and avocado, infused virgin olive oil and shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano Sella & Mosca "La Cala" Vermentino Sardinia, Italy Pale straw gold with light green reflections, delightful floral, crisp and dry with youthful vitality and freshness.
Seared Maine Sea Scallop served on Saffron Rice Tenuta Rapitala "Casalj" Cattarrato-Chardonnay Sicily, Italy Generous aromas of sage, tomato leaves, caper flowers and tropical fruits. On the palate, the wine is rich and full bodied, with a fresh and crisp character.
Pappardelle served with Lamb, Pork, and Veal Ragu, Shaved Riccotta Salata Cusamano "Benuara" Nero D'Avola-Syrah Sicily, Italy Spicy, dark red with a plummy, berry fruit character. This is rich, intense and very voluptuous with a chocolatey background and grainy tannins.
Pan-Seared Ahi Tuna with fried Arugula and Roasted Beet Mashed Potato La Mozza "I Perazzi" Morellino di Scansano Tuscany, Italy Plenty of sweet dark fruit intermingled with lovely notes of spices, menthol and licorice that add complexity, with much persistence on the palate, showing just how satisfying a Morellino can be.
Grilled Filet of Beef and Jumbo Shrimp on Spinach, with Napoli Carrots and Wild Mushroom ragu Bertani "Secco" Valpolicella Ripasso Veneto, Italy Starts with berries, flowers and fresh herbs on the nose, turning to red licorice and mineral on the palate. Medium-bodied and lightly firm, with a good core of fruit and a delicious chocolate-tinged mineral finish.
