| Join Arnie Millan Sunday, July 20 at 6:30 p.m. for an exceptional tasting of truly great German Riesling at Wild Ginger Restaurant. We will gather in one of their exclusive private rooms.
Riesling is widely considered by wine professionals as the world's greatest white grape, surpassing even Chardonnay. Why? Riesling reflects terroir clearly. Great Riesling can age for decades. It succumbs beautifully to noble rot. Great Riesling causes one to grasp for superlatives with flavor descriptors (apple, pear, ginger, cinnamon) and non-flavor descriptors (mineral, liquid rock, transparent, achingly clear, pure) and so on.
As Alsatian producer André Ostertag once said, "With Riesling, all the stones of the world find their unique voice."
We will taste 10 Rieslings. Some of Germany's greatest producers are represented: Selbach-Oster, Joh. Jos. Prum, Christoffel-Erben, Donnhoff, Schloss Schonborn and more. Eight are rated from 93-97 points and two, the oldest from 1989 and 1990, are un-rated. A full wine list, with rating scores, is available upon request!
Wild Ginger will provide a delicious array of appetizers for this tasting.
Cost, including tax and tip, is $99 per person. To reserve your spot, please contact Arnie directly at finedining7@hotmail.com |
