This week enjoy dinner at Ponti Seafood Grill:

"This “lovely” Fremont stalwart swims with “fresh” Pacific NW seafood, including a “legendary” Thai curry pasta with crab, plus a “deep, reasonable” wine list; though some snipe it’s “past its prime” and the service can be “spotty”, most are enamored of the “great deck” and its “wonderful, romantic” views of the Lake Washington Ship Canal." - Zagat.com

" Once on the cutting edge of the Seattle restaurant scene for its forays into East-West fusion cooking, Ponti has matured into an always reliable neighborhood dining spot that nonetheless still feels like a special destination. The canal-side setting is beguiling. The triangular main dining room of the stucco Tuscan-style villa has bay windows along one wall with vistas of the bridges that inspired the restaurant's name, and an even better view of passing watercraft can be had from the cozy awning-covered patio when the weather allows. The kitchen does wonders with salmon and halibut, and the Dungeness crab spring rolls are an absolute must. Thai curry penne is a signature dish, and house-smoked black cod served with almond brown rice is a more heart-healthy option than the equally delightful fish 'n' chips. Popular for business lunches, Ponti offers a scaled-down version of some dinner entrées at midday, along with salads and sandwiches, the latter paired with superb bistro fries. We are inordinately fond of several of the lush desserts, such as individual tarte Tatin, served with vanilla ice cream, and delicate hazelnut-crusted fresh fruit tart filled with panna cotta and a luxurious white chocolate crème caramel. Service is smooth, friendly and professional." - Gayot.com
