The Mellis Calvert Duo combines the musical talents of Carol Mellis, flutist/vocalist and John Calvert/guitarist to create an ensemble infused with passion, artistry and versatility. Folk, Latin, classical and adult contemporary music all share a place in the duo's repertoire. Their ease at performing both instrumental and vocal music in many styles makes the Mellis Calvert Duo the perfect choice for almost any occasion. Having performed at Live Aid, Austin City Limits and a private concert for the Queen would all be nice things to put on their resume but unfortunately this would not be the truth. However, they have been spotted performing at Arizona restaurants, coffee shops, and private parties. Carol received her degree in music from Arizona State University and is currently the Owner/Director of the PLACe Music Academy. Carol's ability to perform expressively is rooted in her love and rich experiences of life, family, friends and music. John attended Berklee College of Music where he was quickly humbled. After a slew of odd and sometimes hazardous jobs he found a more fitting career in teaching and playing guitar. John's earthy and melodic sound is the result of many years of performing his own solo guitar compositions.
