Mac McDonald learned at a young age that he wanted to make wine. His dad, Sue, was a Texas moonshiner. His mother, Elbessie, made wines from the fruit they grew. In 1955, his father was leading a group of doctors on a hunting trip and one of them let Mac taste a 1952 burgundy and he fell in love with pinot.
