Although Austria is a small country both geographically and in terms of wine production, there is greater diversity than one might think. While it is the land of Gruner Veltliner, Riesling and Blaufrankisch, it also has scrumptious Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris not to mention Rotgifler, Roter Veltliner and Furmint. During January we’ll be pouring a rotating selection of red and white wines that highlight and exemplify while Austria may not have the quantity, it is one of the top countries in terms of quality.
