FOUR- DAY EVENT TAKES OVER FESTIVAL PAVILION
at FORT MASON OCTOBER 2-5
San Francisco, CA – It’s once again time to do the chicken dance as Munich, Germany comes to life at Fort Mason in the Marina District with the 9th Annual Oktoberfest by the Bay on October 2-5 at the Festival Pavilion, Fort Mason, Marina and Buchanan streets in San Francisco. Now the largest festival of its kind in California, Oktoberfest-by-the-Bay captures the authentic spirit of Munich, Germany with the finest German cuisine, world’s best beer, and authentic German music that the whole family will love. Tickets range from $25 - $35, $5 for ages 13-17, and children 12 and under are free. Thursday nights admission includes a bratwurst in a bun, a cold Spatan beer of your choice and for parties of ten or more there will be reserved seating. Festival hours are Thursday 5pm-12am, Friday 5pm-12am, Saturday 11am-5am & 6pm-12am and Sunday 11am-7pm. For more information visit the website at

Colorful flags from all the regions of Germany will be flying proudly for the event, which features non-stop entertainment from the world-famous 21-piece Chico Bavarian Band. They will share the spotlight with The Internationals singing and dancing by Nature Friends Schuhplattlers.
Tables will be laden with a smorgasbord of German food, a fabulous mix from bratwurst to schweine haxe, goulash stew to wienershnitzel and everything in between. Following yet another grand German tradition will be a wide assortment of authentic German beers to wash down the delicious food. And, for every sweet tooth, there will be famous pastry desserts.
Because this event celebrates the German heritage, visitors are invited to learn more about the culture by exploring the extensive exhibits of crafts, art, clothing and historical items. And, to keep the memory fresh, there will be a large selection of German arts and crafts for purchase.

Oktoberfest by the Bay is produced by American Showplace Productions. For the fourth year in a row, Oktoberfest by the Bay is donating a portion of the proceeds to One Brick, a San Francisco non-profit charity.
