Come on down to Artisan this Thursday and meet Leon Glover, the winemaker at Lionheart Wines. Leon will be here pouring five different tasty wines for you to enjoy. Every wine Leon’s bringing will be brand new, soon-to-be-released treats from this small winery. We’ll start with the 2007 Angel’s Share, Saralee’s Vienyard, White Rhone blend from the Russian River Valley. This lovely delight is a blend of Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier. Next we’ll move on to the ’07 McGinley Vineyard Roussanne. The grapes for this single varietal white come from Santa Barbara County. Try to taste the difference between the Roussanne grapes in this wine and the Angel’s Share grapes from Sonoma. We’ll move on to a Rhone red next with the 2006 Syrah, also from Santa Barbara County. Then we’ll transition to Lionheart’s ’06 “Roaring Red” Proprietary Blend (a blend of Napa Cab and Mendocino Syrah). In another transition, we’ll finish with a lovely 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa.
