The Jug Shop Presents: Dolci In December!
Tuesday, December 5th At Emporio Rulli

What truly makes the holidays special are family and friends.  But what makes them even better are the delicious shared traditions- food, wine, and most especially, the sweets!  On December 5th, come satisfy your sweet tooth with an amazing array of Italian dessert wines along with the fabulous creations of pastry chef, Gary Rulli.  Rulli has earned national attention as one of America's finest pastry chefs, turning out a remarkable array of classic Northern Italian creations at his famed Emporio Rulli locations in Larkspur and San Francisco. Since opening his first location in 1988, Gary's pasticceria - known to regulars simply as "Rulli" - has garnered a loyal and ever-growing audience, a devoted mail-order clientele, and universal critical acclaim.

Jug Shop Italian wine specialist Floribeth Schumacher will be pairing Gary's delights with a vast selection of Italian dessert wines.  Italy produces the most diverse and interesting stickies in the world and you'll be treated to selections from nearly every region.  Taste examples from the cool climate regions of the north to the warm, Mediterranean climate of the south.  She'll show you wines made in the passito and  solera methods, as well as the more familiar late harvest and botrytised styles, even some sparklers!

And if this isn't enough to entice you, Angelo Auriana, former Executive Chef for Santa Monica's top-rated Valentino Restaurant and now Executive Chef for Emporio Rulli, will present a selection of Italian cheeses to pair with the wine selections.  In addition, Angelo will be behind the burners at Emporio Rulli Tuesday night.  So once your sugar coma wears off, grab a seat and dig into something savory!  (Reservations for dinner are strongly encouraged.)
