It's possible that riesling is the most misunderstood of the great grape varieties. Often dismissed as simply a "sweet" wine (which it only sometimes is), riesling can also be confusing due to its German classifications--Kabinett? Spatlese? Beerenauslese? Trockenbeerenauslese??? This 2nd Saturday we at 58 Degrees & Holding Co. are going to try and demystify this extraordinary noble grape, and hopefully convince those that join us that riesling should always be included in any discussion concerning the "great grapes" of the wine world.
