| Since the founding of Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery in 1982, Bob and Carol Russell have been in the forefront promoting the preservation of local farms and the valuable resources they provide to the whole community. Good stewardship and management practices are necessary to maintain the sustainability of the natural bounty in South Coastal Mass.
Along the way we have been fortunate to work with people like Sarah Kelly and Sarah Cogswell of SEMAP at UMass who are tireless in promoting the local farms through their ‘Buy Fresh Buy Local’ campaign. We have also seen what a great catalyst the Edible Cape Cod, Boston, and Rhody magazines have been for the local food movement in nearby areas.
Join us on Saturday October 4, 2008 as we host a fund raiser for SEMAP under the tent at Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. We also welcome the edible communities of Cape Cod, Boston and Rhody as we tastefully celebrate our newest edible in New England: edible South Shore
