Cost:	Free, but a 2004 souvenir 14-ounce mug is $3 and is required for tasting. Mugs from previous years are not accepted. Tokens are required for beer. Tokens cost $1 apiece. Patrons pay two tokens for a 7-ounce beer or 4 tokens for a 14-ounce beer.

Celebrating its 17th year in 2004, the Oregon Brewers Festival is North America's largest gathering of independent brewers. Seventy-two breweries offer handcrafted brews to approximately 80,000 beer lovers during the three-day event. There is no judging at this event; rather, it is an opportunity for craft-brew lovers to enjoy 72 products from some of the nation's finest breweries. The event features home brewers demonstrating their craft, hop grower exhibits, maltsters; beer writers; and a display of Northwest breweriana. The Crater Lake Soda Garden offers cups of free hand-crafted flavored sodas to children and designated drivers. Seven local restaurants offer light meals and snacks. Live musical entertainment is offered throughout the weekend. Minors are permitted when accompanied by a parent.
