Other Rhode Island Wine-11th Annual Bristol County Lions Wine & Beer Tasting & Pizza Challenge

The newly crowned Miss Rhode Island USA 2008 will be supporting Lions Charities on Friday, October 19, as the Bristol County Lions Club celebrates its Eleventh Annual Wine/Beer Festival and East Bay Pizza Challenge. The event will occur at Linden Place in Bristol’s historic downtown district from 6-9 p.m. Proceeds will fund Ronald McDonald House, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Good Neighbors Soup Kitchen, the Linden Place Restoration Fund, Adopt-a-Family, eyeglasses and exams, college scholarships, local libraries, and Thanksgiving Baskets.   Last year’s event raised over $8,000 for these causes.

Miss Rhode Island USA will be signing autographed photos and taking pictures with guests. At the end of the evening she will hand out trophies to local pizza restaurants in the following categories: Best Traditional Cheese Pizza, Best Crust, Best Gourmet Pizza, Best Calzone and Best Overall.Enjoy our Pasta station with four (4) different pasta creations.

Local wines from the Coastal Wine Trail as well as selections from the West Coast, South America and Europe will be available for tasting. Rhode Island brewers will also be sampling their latest beers. A silent auction   contains over 50 packages from hotels, bed & breakfasts, restaurants and wineries.

The event takes place in both the Linden Place Ballroom and tented courtyard. Advance tickets are   $35 with a limited number  sold at the door for $40. Ticket price includes all wine, beer, pizza and pasta station! Linden Place is located at 500 Hope Street in Bristol.  Free parking is available in a lot adjacent to the Ballroom with an entrance on Bradford Street.
