| The Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton will be holding its sixth annual “Grape Expectations” gala on Monday, October 27, 2008, to raise funds in support of its Children’s Fund. This exciting marché style event is moving to Carmen’s Banquet Hall, 1520 Stone Church Road East and and will offer guests an evening of fine Ontario wines and tasty food specialties. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Thirty-three restaurants, food specialty stores and Ontario wineries, all of whom donate their time and product to benefit the Society, will participate in this year’s gala. The 500 anticipated guests will be able to select from a list of more than 32 wines, and sample delicious and unique dishes from local restaurant establishments, all while listening to the sounds of the John Sherwood Trio. The event also includes a Decadent Desserts and Cappuccino Corner, complete with sweets and pastries.
The presenting sponsor for this year’s event is Youth Employment Centre. Media sponsors for 2008 include CHCH News, 102.9 K-lite FM, Oldies 1150 and 820 CHAM.
By simply going out for an enjoyable and relaxing evening, gala goers will be providing opportunities to the vulnerable children and youth in the Hamilton community. The proceeds from this event support vital therapeutic and recreational programs for children who are in the care of the Society.
To date, the annual gala has raised over $300,000 for the Children’s Fund.
