Come join us for a very special evening at the vineyard when we present our first Winemaker's Dinner of 2008. On Friday evening, July 25th we welcome Joseph Carr and his award winning wines from the Napa & Sonoma Valleys of California. Since launching his business in 2005, Mr. Carr’s wines have been received with great enthusiasm. His wines grace some of the finest restaurant lists in the states and abroad. He has been called a “rising star” in Napa Valley, offering complex wines that dare to proclaim “Luxury Value.”

Joseph has chosen 4 of his outstanding wines & Chef Matt will prepare an exquisite 4 course Wine Country meal to complement them. For this event we will open at 6:30 pm for cocktails and dinner will begin at 7:30 pm sharp. Joseph Carr Chardonnay Carneros

This handcrafted Carneros Chardonnay is inspired by the great wines of the Mâconnais region in France. This wine is tropical in presentation, pineapple on the nose, with stone fruit and fig nuances, followed by a mineral finish which reflects the Carneros region’s unique terroir. Utilizing thirty percent small French barrel fermentation and minimal maloactic fermentation, results in a stylistically approachable Chardonnay. Vineyard sources include Truchard and Larson Family Vineyards utilizing French Dijon clones.

Joseph Carr Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast

Our Pinot Noir is estate grown from Larson Vineyards in the southern region of the Sonoma Coast. It has complex, refreshing aromatics filled with ripe strawberry and floral rose petals. Bright in color, this wine exhibits sweet black cherry, cassis, spice and hints of cinnamon, as well as a scent of charred oak from twelve months in new French oak. Moderate tannins give this wine both body and approachability. Limited production.

Our Flagship Wine is a traditional Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. It is aged twenty-two months in French oak and almost a year in bottle. The wine displays a deep purple hue, with scents of black current, smoke and saddle. The palate is approachable and rich with dark cherry, berry and ripe plum flavors. The finish is long, elegant and paired with soft tannins. Vineyards include Sycamore, Rutherford Bench, St Helena, Beckstoffer, Chateau Montelana and Diamond Mountain.

Joseph Carr Merlot Napa Valley

Our Napa Valley Merlot is inspired by the great Chateaux of Pomerol and St Emilion on the right bank of Bordeaux. We source the grapes for this supple and well structured wine from Howell Mountain and the Rutherford Bench. Deep crimson in color, aromas of black cherry and sage set the stage for a complex ripe plum palate accented with hints of cocoa and spice flavors from the one hundred percent French oak.
