This week enjoy dinner at Wildfish Seafood Grille:
"This “lively” Newport seafooder is the “place to be seen” for “hip” locals seeking “excellent” plates of steak and “super fresh fish” supported by a “great wine list” and “efficient, unassuming” hospitality; the “happening” scene is “upbeat” and “hectic”, especially during the Sunday–Monday happy hour when the “half-price apps” and “$5 martinis” “can’t be beat.”" - Zagat.com
"Located at The Bluffs shopping center, this chic seafood spot is a good choice for fresh fare in a clubby setting. Although an import from Scottsdale, the space feels more East Coast with warm-colored woods, romantic banquettes, dramatic lighting, and exhibition kitchen. The house specialty is fish flown in from all over North America, and it’s best showcased in appetizers like the chilled seafood tower, New England-style crab cakes, or Cognac-laden lobster bisque. For entrées, the tender Chilean sea bass roasted crisp with a hint of lemon and garlic is a standout. Other entrées get inspiration from around the world, including France (sautéed Gulf snapper meunière), Italy (Georges Bank lemon sole in Parmesan crust) and Asia (Chilean sea bass steamed Hong Kong-style). There is a short but excellent steak and chops menu, but seafood reigns supreme here. Two or three people can easily share the huge side dishes. At meal’s end, try the French-pressed coffee with dessert. The pricey wine list is adequate, but there are plenty of by-the-glass selections that won't break the bank." - Gayot.com |
