Northern Virginia Wine-Iberian Wines Series: Portugal Wine class and Tasting

In this first session of the Iberian Wines Series, you will discover that there is much more than Port and Vinho Verde in Portugal. In fact, Portugal is probably the best kept secret in Europe when it comes to still wines, and the fact that top wineries from all over the world (from Bordeaux to the US) are investing in Portugal’s terroir is the best testimony.

In this wine class and tasting, we will cover the wine regions of Dao, Douro (also home of Port), Alentejo, Ribatejo and smaller wine areas.

You will taste 8 different wines from local varietals such as:

• Vinho Verde,
• Touriga Nacional,
• Touriga Francesa,
• Tinto Cao,
• Tinta Roriz, or Tinta Barroca.

During the tasting, you will eat cheese and crackers and at the end of the tasting, you will be served a plate of Portuguese-inspired appetizers.
