New York City Wine-Barolo, Barbaresco and the Wines of the Langhe

The Langhe is a hilly area in the province of Cuneo in south-western Piedmont. This revered wine-making zone spans both Barolo and Barbaresco, two small villages which are now internationally recognized for their world-famous appellations. Between them lies the town of Alba, the commercial center of the Langhe. But the Langhe’s wine production does not stop there. Barbera and Dolcetto make for some world-class reds, and popular but lesser-known varieties such as Arneis, Moscato and Pelaverga further enhance the Langhe’s standing as one of the world’s most important and prolific terroirs.
