In 1989, Suzen O'Rourke founded Cooking by the Book, on the principle that everyone regardless of their skills or experience can enjoy the rewards of fine cooking. Join the Cooking by the Book staff and the Wine Workshop as we join forces to examine the fine art of food and wine pairing from start to finish. We will begin by separating the basic ingredients of dishes, then compare and contrast these ingredients to different wines. Afterwards, we will head into the kitchen where you (with the guidance of an expert chef ) will turn these ingredients into a luxurious meal! We will then perform more complex food and wine pairings with these finished dishes and, of course, get to enjoy everything along the way! This will be a highly entertaining and enlightening “hands on” evening of wonderful food and wine. Cooking by the Book has a beautiful space with an extraordinary state-of-the-art kitchen. Learn the secrets of the best sommeliers, and arm yourself with the skill to expertly match food and wine at your next dinner party or restaurant visit.
