Event Details

The remote and mountainous Bierzo region, located in the northwestern corner of Castile and Leon, near Galicia, has experienced a fast transformation. With the rediscovery of the old Mencía vines, Bierzo has gone, in just a few vintages, from being almost unknown, to producing an array of new crus that have elicited comparisons with Guigal’s famous Cote Roties. The engine behind this dramatic shift was the arrival of Alvaro Palacios of Priorat fame. His lead has been followed by a cohort of new and traditional wineries, resulting in many distinctive wines, some of which have achieved cult status in record time.

Limited to 12.

12 wine tasted.

Instructor: Helio San Miguel
