On Tuesday, September 9, Just Food will host Let Us Eat Local a gala celebrating the delicious core of our mission — uniting local farms and city residents with sensational, seasonal food. Let Us Eat Local will bring 20 of New York City’s most sought-after chefs — including Michael Anthony (Gramercy Tavern), Bill Telepan (Telepan), and Mark Ladner (Del Posto) — together with organic produce, heritage meats, artisanal cheeses, beer, and wine that’s all produced within 250 miles of the City. Under a tent and against the dazzling backdrop of the Midtown skyline, taste delectable portions prepared by celebrity chefs, with locally grown ingredients, while sampling wines and spirits from featured Long Island vineyards and local distilleries. Adrienne Young, Nashville-based folk/rock musician and local food advocate, will perform as a special musical guest. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. for VIP attendees, including a special reception with the chefs, and 6:30 p.m for general admission.
