This week enjoy dinner at Capsouto Freres:
"“Visit Provence for a few hours” via this “out-of-the-way” TriBeCa “oasis” that “delights” with “nothing-flashy” French bistro classics “expertly done” (the “soufflés are a must”), “wonderful wines” and service to “make you feel like family”; its “lovely”, “high-ceilinged” room works equally well for a “romantic” tête-à-tête or “brunch with friends.”" - Zagat.com
"One of the most romantic casual dining rooms in the city, Capsouto Frères planted roots in TriBeCa long before the neighborhood became stocked with rich celebrities. Set in a former warehouse, the spacious restaurant features a high-ceilinged dining room with red brick walls, wooden floors, soaring columns and an antique wall mirror. The Capsouto brothers are gracious hosts, but the whole experience feels rather dated. The French food is decent and reasonably priced, and brunch is always a treat. You'll find good, spicy saucissons, smoked salmon, ravioli with scallops and mushrooms, steak frites and such specials as duckling with cassis and ginger. The soufflés are popular, but we think they could be a bit more distinguished. The mostly French and American wine list is adequate." - Gayot.com |
