Founded in 1717, Domaine Leflaive has long been considered one of the greatest white wine growers in Burgundy. Currently under the stewardship of Anne-Claude Leflaive, the Domaine’s conversion to biodynamic farming in 1990 has produced remarkable results, raising the standard for one of the world’s greatest wines even higher. Clive Coates on Ann-Claude Leflaive, “…Leflaive’s nomination as the world’s top white winemaker speaks not only of the quality of her wines, but of the affection and respect in which she is held…” This old family domaine demonstrates how great white wine can be, given the right soil, vines, and combination of tradition and sense of posterity. Vincent Leflaive died in 1993, and Anne-Claude took the helm. She now works closely with head winemaker Pierre Morey, together producing the most stunning white wines in all of Burgundy. These are aristocratic wines of the highest level, and this will be a most memorable meal, combined with the glorious seafood at Oceana. Wines include: 2000, 1999, 1996 Chevalier; 2001, 2000, 1997 Bâtard; 2002, 2000 Bienvenue; 1996 Clavoillon, Pucelles, Folatières and Combettes.
