Meet La Magdalena, a Flamenco dancer based in NYC and Seville, Spain.

Taste wine and cheese from Spain and meet others with your same interests, as La Magdalena helps demystify the art of Flamenco in front of your very eyes.

These sessions will cover the basics of Flamenco, from head to toe. Students learn to play "palmas" (hand clapping), teach their feet to taconear, and may even try to move fluidly and confidently to the music with some marcaje.

Magdalena will give a brief history of Flamenco and some insider tips to seeing the best artists around!

About the Instructor:

When not in the U.S. teaching or performing, La Magdalena trains in Seville, Spain- home of "flamenco puro" - with the legendary gypsy families of Farruco, Fernandez, and Vargas.

From 1996-1999 La Magdalena helped create a revival of the New York Flamenco scene, dancing at hot new clubs throughout the city such as Xunta, Alegrias, and Kaña. Soon afterward she was able to use her organic approach and educational background to teach people of all ages and backgrounds.
