| Judd’s Hill Winery is conducting two open houses for people interested in blending their own wines as part of the winery’s MicroCrush custom winemaking program. These will take place on June 27 and July 11, from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. each day. RSVPs in advance go to Jan Berg at 255-2332 or jan@juddshill.com.
“This will give people a chance to walk through the winery, meet our winemakers and get a sense of how it works,” explains winemaker Judd Finkelstein. “We currently have clients making a range of different red and white wines and it’s a very easy one-stop-shopping process, since we source the grapes for those who need them and our service is all-inclusive from crushing the grapes through bottling. A distinguishing factor for us is that we are also a small family winery, and people making their own wine here become part of our ‘tribe,’ so to speak,” he adds.
Since 1992, the Finkelsteins have been making small lots, as little as one barrel, of handcrafted customized wine for a range of clients, ranging from vineyard owners to wine enthusiasts. The service is all-inclusive, from fruit sourcing for those who need it, through bottling. Judd’s Hill MicroCrush has helped launch several commercial brands as well as fulfill the dreams of wine aficionados from around the world. Their excellent, long-standing reputation in the winemaking community of Napa Valley has made MicroCrush the popular choice of independent grape growers and small brand owners for custom winemaking.
The winery is located at 2332 Silverado Trail (between Hardman & Trancas in Napa, 94558) and is open daily for tours and tasting of Judd’s Hill wines; more info at www.juddshill.com or 707/255-2332.
Judd’s Hill Winery is owned and operated by two generations of the Finkelstein family. Founders Art and Bunnie, joined by Judd and Holly, their son and daughter-in-law, are dedicated to producing ultra-premium, handcrafted wines. The Finkelsteins have been making wine in Napa Valley since the 1970s and continue to produce signature wines that are fruit-driven, concentrated and eminently drinkable.
