The Menu & Wine Descriptions:
A Combination of Sweetbreads and Frog’s Legs with Citrus and Almonds
Hendry Chardonnay Unoaked, Napa Valley, CA
It was whole cluster crushed and fermented in stainless steel. It was not allowed to go through malolactic fermentation and remained in stainless steel until bottling. The beautiful fruit flavors of this wine are accentuated by the absence of oak. The wine has the refreshing citrus flavors of ruby red grapefruit and Meyer lemon in addition to very ripe red apple flavors. The mouth feel has nice weight. It has bright acidity, a pleasing mineral quality, and a long, intense finish.
Red Wine Seafood Terrine
Hendry Pinot Noir, Napa Valley, CA
Classic, mouthwatering Pinot Noir aromas of cherry, orange peel, spice and smoke. Silky palate entry, medium-body.
Cocoa Scented Hare
Hendry Zinfandel Block 7, Napa Valley, CA
The flavors of this wine are reminiscent of bright red cherries, blackberries and milk chocolate with floral notes. Subtle spices are also apparent. The French oak is well integrated, adding a layer of complexity and refinement to the wine. It has a round mouth feel and the supple fine tannins that are characteristic
of Block 7.
Fondue of Bleu Cheese with Beef
Hendry HRW Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, CA
This delightful wine is dominated by sweet dark berry fruit, with pleasant French Oak spice, hints of violets and a little mineral on the finish. The tannins are round and soft.
Seasonal Fruits
Hendry Rose, Napa Valley, CA
The 2006 Rosé is the result of a saignée of Cabernet Sauvignon and Primitivo. This rosé had a long, cool fermentation in small bins, followed by four months in stainless steel before bottling. Cool fermentation resulted in refreshing and bright flavors and aromas of nectarine and peach, accented with apricot, tangy citrus and lemongrass. Fermented dry, it is a nice, simple wine, delicious chilled on a warm afternoon or with picnic foods. 13.5% alcohol. Only 357 cases produced.
