Judd Finkelstein, the winemaker and second-generation-family-owner, is Napa Valley’s most well-known ukulele-playing winemaker. Judd has a band, The Maikai Gents & The Mysterious Miss Mauna Loa, which in 2006 released its first CD, The Wiki Wiki Grog Shop. The album consists of 16 vintage Hawaiian songs which are Hawaiian classics. The band was formed in 2002; in the ensuing years the band has played all over the United States and most frequently in its home base of northern California and Napa Valley. In 2005 Judd started a ukulele club in Napa Valley, The Wine Country Flea Jumpers, whose members include chefs, designers and other winemakers; the group meets monthly and welcomes new members; they practice songs sung in Hawaiian as well as American standards.
