Nessa Albarino 2006
90 points Wine & Spirits Magazine
A beach wine, this leaves the mouth tingling with stony, saline acidity. The texture is lovely, a contrast white peach fruitiness and the grit of fine sandpaper. Pour it with a platter of mariscos.”
El Curato Tempranillo 2006
90 points The Wine Advocate
This wine, produced by the Aragon brothers of Cillar de Silos, aims at breaking down the stereotype of Toro wines as very hard, tannic and alcoholic. Produced from 20-40 year old vines, hand harvested with temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel and only 4 months in a combination of American and French oak barrels. Bottled unfiltered.
Prima Tinta de Toro 2005
90 points International Wine Cellar-Wine Enthusiast
“Youthful purple. Spicy cherry and dark chocolate aromas are underscored by zesty minerals and orange zest. Sweet raspberry and kirsch flavors are impressively pure and deep, showing an energetic personality. Gains sweetness on the long, spicy finish. This outstanding value offers the complexity of wines costing much more.” |
