The Wine House is now recognized as Southern California’s only Approved Provider of this, the world’s foremost wine and spirit education certification program. Courses are designed for wine and spirits enthusiasts, professionals, or those interested in entering the industry. The program has proven to be a dynamic catalyst in inspiring rewarding careers in the restaurant, retail, winemaking, journalism, distribution, and marketing professions.

The Intermediate Certificate covers the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting, food and wine matching, grape growing and wine making. It includes in-depth varietal tastings and explanations of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Grenache, Riesling and others. It also highlights the wine producing regions of the world. The class involves five three-hour sessions, followed by a one-hour multiple choice examination on the sixth session. Wine tasting is a part of every class. We recommend that students complete at least 14 hours of personal study outside the classroom hours during their course of study. The Intermediate Certificate is a pre-requisite for enrollment in the Advanced Certificate course. Your instructor is James King.
