Event Details

Southampton Ales & Lagers of The Southampton Publick House will be featured at a beer dinner at Legal Seafood in Huntington on Wednesday, May 14th at 6 p.m. Enjoy a selection of award winning, hand-crafted beers paired with a five course menu. The cost of the dinner is $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (631) 271- 9777. The menu is as follows:

Amuse

Crab Stuffed Mushrooms with Maryland crabmeat

Cured Ham with horseradish sauce

Southampton Double White Ale- light in color with a refreshing orangey tartness and a hint of coriander flavor. There is also a detectable alcohol “warming” that is balanced by a pleasant residual sweetness

First Course

Marinated Butter Fish with pickled shiitake mushrooms, buttery Bibb lettuce and candied fennel

Southampton India Pale Ale – Full of floral hops aroma, the pungent and lingering hop tastes of grapefruit and apricot come through, while still showing plenty of malt character to balance the flavor

Second Course

Seared Sea Scallops with lobster, goat cheese ravioli and hazelnut brown butter

Southampton Saison Deluxe- has an intense fruit character with notes of passion fruit and pineapple, which is accented, by a mildly earthy character of imported hops. Bone dry, it is deceptively light tasting and refreshing despite its alcohol content of 7.4% by volume.

Third Course

Braised Short Rib with turnip puree and roasted shallot au jus

Southampton Secret Ale – A sweet, slightly roasted malt flavor up front, followed by a lingering fruity, mineral, hop finish

Dessert

White Chocolate Molten Cake with pistachio ice cream

Southampton Imperial Porter – There are flavor notes of chocolate, toffee and caramel, as well as the warming effect of the higher alcohol content
